It is very funny to watch my peers or even older people seek validation over the internet. You look good depending on how many likes you receive and if you do not receive that many likes you do not look so good…
I would like to know since when has it been okay to seek validation from strangers? If you look good and feel good why does it matter if you receive a lot of likes or no likes at all? Since when has taking a cute photo with your significant other mean you have the perfect relationship? Since when has it meant that you take no photos of your significant other mean you’re lonely or your relationship may not be good? Since when has getting a 1,000 likes a day mean you are a model? Since when has it meant your friends with someone on Facebook meaning you’re friends with them in real life? Since when has it meant that people talk plenty on social media meaning they are good friends? Since when has people gone to social media to seek symphanty because their real friends no longer feel for their situations they constantly put themselves in? Since when have people ran to social media because they are in trouble?
Why is it so easy for people to live a life they are not living through social media? Why is it so easy for people to be dishonest through the internet? Why is it okay to discipline your child over the internet? Why is it okay to exploit your child over the internet? Why are we so mindless when it comes to social media? Assuming everyone is our friend because they “seem nice” on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter?
Did we forget that stalkers, identity thieves, Phedophiles exist? Did we forget how to communicate with real human beings? Instead of dealing with reality people rather run to social media (Yes men) who don’t know their life on social media!? WHY!?
Get a grip. WAKE UP!
